County Councillor Barrie Taylor welcomes Liberal Democrat Candidate Edith Longden

2.00.00am GMT Sat 14th Nov 2009

"I am delighted that Edith has agreed to stand" says Councillor Barrie Taylor

"Too many Councillors are drawing a pension, as I do. I think it is important that younger people, who are facing the problems of bringing up children and are concerned for their future, should be represented.

"Edith has the advantage that she has been part of this area and this community from childhood.

"As a qualified solicitor used to dealing with big organisations she will have a head start in cutting through the bureaucracy and getting things done.

"But Edith wears her legal qualification lightly. I think she is more concerned to be a mother, a farmer's wife and a useful member of this community.

"I have also been glad that she enjoys walking. She has helped deliver thousands of our 'FOCUS' leaflets!"
